About me

Handmade in Wales

Hello, I'm Rhian ❤️

Having been born and lived in South Wales my entire life I felt it only natural to include it in the name of my business.

I've been making handmade items for over a decade and have learned many different styles and techniques over the years, which I put to use almost daily now.
I use a variety of different machines (mainly of the Singer and Necchi brand)  and hand sewing methods to make products, the only computer in use here is my trusty Brother labelling machine.

Handmade sewing craft traditions in South Wales have a rich history and continue to be cherished and practised by many individuals and communities in the region.

In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in handmade sewing crafts in South Wales. Many individuals including myself and some communities are actively preserving and promoting these traditions through workshops, exhibitions, and local craft fairs.

These events provide opportunities for people to learn and practice traditional sewing techniques, as well as showcase their work to a wider audience.

(You can see which events I'll be attending here!)

The sewing craft traditions in South Wales not only celebrate the region's cultural heritage but also serve as a means of creative expression and a way to connect with the past. The dedication and skill of the makers continue to inspire and contribute to the vibrant craft community in the region.
